Undergraduate
I graduated from the University of Washington, with a BS in Microbiology and a BA in microbiology with all my “elective” work done in biotechnology and liberal arts.
To qualify the biotechnology statement, I took various classes in multiple departments such as immunology, bioengineering, chemical engineering, material science engineering. And worked in academic research labs whose research ranges from vascular engineering, protein-based nanoparticles, to gene circuits/synthetic biology at the hasty lab at UCSD.
To qualify the liberal arts statement, I took various classes in the philosophy, psychology, sociology, architecture, and “digital arts & experimental media” departments.
Work
Since graduation I have worked as a RA at Scripps Research, formerly known as “Calibr”. Where I worked on High throughput screening and various cell based assays using liquid handling robots. I was working mainly in the malaria drug development space, under Dr. Case McNamara and Dr. Arnab Chatterjee.
And I currently am employed as a RA at Rejuvenate Bio. Where I work under the scientific direction of Dr. Noah Davidsohn. Feel free to look at our website.
